you have silly photobooth sessions!
The past week or so have been rather trying. I'll be the first to admit that i rely a little too much on the internet, to blog and read blogs, to stream movies/shows, to watch funny baby videos on youtube...and the list goes on. Over the summer however i found myself using the internet less and less, occupying my mostly packed days with friends, outdoor activities and the like. However now being back in a not-so-tropical country like England with no car severely confines alot of my daily activities to home and anywhere accessible by foot.
I'm usually in my warm house, in an even warmer bathrobe, with a cuppa hot tea in my hands, and on the internet. Sometimes i indulge in the occasional art project, shopping escapades with friends {again, in heated shops along the high street} and musical endeavours. But all in all, I rely on the internet to keep connected, stalk friends on facebook, and to get my daily dose of fashion/world news/random fun facts. In short, I heart the internet, i really do.
But being without it for awhile has made me really appreciative of the little things.
Like how a home-made dinner for two with just jazz playing in the background can be oh-so romantic and have me feeling like such a 1950s housewife. And how good it feels to snuggle in a warm bed having long conversations in the morning without feeling the need to get up and check emails or facebook. It is SUCH an empowering feeling, so free-ing, and SO good.
So much so that I'm considering making a conscious effort to be internet-less for one or two days a week.
Have any of you survived through an internet black-out before?
If you have anything to share, I'd love to hear (:
pardon me as i return to sifting through my music collection on itunes
