You know I have this letter, a letter I started writing a few years ago. Well, it's more like a long long, long letter that's beginning to look more like a novel than anything else. It's for my future daughter/son. I know right, weird coming from someone who isn't even married yet! haha (: But it's something I'm determined to complete, that was inspired by a letter my dad wrote to me when I was tiny, which he eventually gave me on my 18th birthday.
I haven't added to it in a really long while, and just today, I decided to look at it.
Wow. Emotions are a strange thing, they never really do go away, do they?
And even if they do, they leave behind a residue far more potent than that which we remember.
I'm going to try and remain diligent in writing for my future child.
Afterall, nothing says I love you more than a dedicated novel (:
Is there anything special that you have planned for your future offspring?
ps: gosh, I hope I don't come across as being baby-crazy..my biological clock has yet to start ticking (:
have a great weekend, everyone!
smoothies to combat the insane heat might be a good idea (:

haha you are not a baby-crazed lady quite yet :) but this past summer i started keeping a notebook of quotes, lyrics, and just random thoughts and the whole time i had it planned that i'd love to give it to my daughter someday. future daughter that is! and ive also saved everything from the last 4 years from mine and josh's relationship..i think that'd be a cool thing to show my little ones :) future little ones.. enjoy your smoothie.. im off to have a popsicle!
no wayyy that is so not crazy. i'm actually doing something similar to nicole... like a scrapbook! i guess i always wished my parents had done something like that for me, because i'm so interested in knowing what they were like when they were younger and hearing all the little details that i'm sure they just never think to say or don't remember anymore.
this post reminded me that i should try and keep up with it a little more!
thanks for sharing :) xo
thats lovely - I want to write a letter each month like this blog... its so heartwarming!

Aww I think it is a really good and cute idea! xx
One thing i know is that you are going to be one heck of a great mother one day. Those maternal instincts and baking skills and everything. feed me? hehe ;)
That is awesome! When I was 12 years old my dad sat me down and told me his friends daughter was having a hard time so he asked me to write a letter to her to cheer her up and give her some advice...fast forward to 6 years later, I was having a really hard time with certain things in life and my dad handed me this letter... I opened it and just started weeping, it was the letter I had written when I was 12 to his "friends" "daughter". I was really writing to my future self. It was very powerful.
I have written Mr. Parkie many letters. I think when he gets older he will be curious to what he was like when he couldn't hear.
:)
Brooke that totally gave me goosebumps! What a lovely idea :) x
Awww, speaking of your dad, attended your church today! Your dad is so funny even when he's conducting a sermon lol good stuff btw :) Can't wait to see you Delly Welly!!
i have an entire journal filled with ideas and thoughts for my future children. i've been keeping it since i was in high school! i don't think it's crazy at all. it's beautiful to think about and love your children before they even exist!
